Returns and Refunds

Generic Refund Policy

We accept refunds and exchanges.


Equessential’s policies regarding returns conform with the regulations of the Office of Fair Trading, Qld, Australia.

With some exceptions (see below) Equessential accepts the return of items only if they are in their original condition with their original tags and they are in their original undamaged packaging, please notify us of the problem within 48 hours of receipt by you to obtain a Return Authorisation, and despatch them to us within seven days of receipt.

Non-Returnable Items

Items such as horse boots which have been worn or used by animals can easily be damaged — such damage is generally beyond the control of the manufacturer and retailer (eg. a horse standing on or chewing the boots) and such goods may not be returned if damaged unless they can be shown to be defective (see below). Similarly, items which have been worn or washed may not be returned unless they can be shown to be defective.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and will be made using the same payment method you used to purchase the original goods (eg. credit your credit card if you purchased the goods using a credit card), within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)

We understand that buying the correct size online can be difficult. Please refer to the sizing chart provided by Equessential to ensure you order the right size for your horse. If you do make a mistake however, we are happy to exchange sizes as long as the goods are returned in their original condition and you cover the postage cost. The exchanged product will be posted out once the original item has been returned.

Defective items

If goods are found to be defective in materials or workmanship, they may be returned to Equessential. You must include with the returned goods a Return Authorisation with a full description of the defect(s), along with your proof of purchase. Defective items may be repaired, replaced or refunded. Returns of defective items do not attract a handling fee.


To return your product, you should obtain a Return Authorisation from us, and then despatch them to us within seven days of receipt.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Postage and handling charges are not refundable.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We can’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Your Personal details

Your privacy is important to us. We will never sell your personal information (including, but not limited to, your email address) to any outside person or organisation.

Your credit card is processed by Paypal and the information is not stored on our website and our employees do not have access to your card information.

Delivery timeframes

Every week-day at 3pm we check the orders for shipping requirements. Standard shipping is with Australia Post and can take up to 5 days, depending on the destination.
